About The Event
Readers and book lovers across central Iowa will have plenty to celebrate at the 2026 DSM Book Festival, where an outstanding lineup of writers — including invited author W. W. Van Overbeke — will gather for a full day devoted to storytelling, creativity, and community.
The free, family-friendly event, presented by Beaverdale Books and the Beaverdale Neighborhood Association, will take place at the Franklin Event Center, 4801 Franklin Avenue in Des Moines. Alongside author readings and conversations, the festival will feature panels, workshops, and children’s activities. Attendees will also have opportunities to meet authors, have books signed, connect with publishers, and spend the day among fellow book lovers celebrating the joy of reading.
